Funerals at FPC

In life and in death we belong to God
— A Brief Statement of Faith

Funerals at First Presbyterian, and in Presbyterian Church more broadly, are first and foremost a service of worship to celebrate the resurrection from the dead of Jesus. They are also spaces to celebrate the life of the deceased. When we gather in worship for a funeral/memorial service, we proclaim our faith in the resurrection, our support for the bereaved, and remember the promise that nothing in life or in death will separate us from God’s love in Christ Jesus.

Our church is open to be used by anyone for a funeral/memorial service, be they members of First Presbyterian or not. Non-members may be subject to a fee and approval by the Session. Contact Rev. Wes Pitts for more information.

If you anticipate the death of a loved one, or want to plan your own service to take the onus off your loved ones when your time comes, please use the funeral planning guide found below. Bring a completed copy to the church office.

The FPC Columbarium

Columbarium niches are available for purchase by members of First Presbyterian Church and their families. Contact the church office for available niches and cost.
