Spiritual Growth At First Presbyterian
“Don’t even begin to think that I have come to do away with the Law and the Prophets. I haven’t come to do away with them but to fulfill them…whoever keeps these commands and teaches people to keep them will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”
Matthew 5:17, 19b
Learning Opportunities
-
Each Sunday before Worship, our Spiritual Formation Class gathers in the Session Room (first floor, behind the sanctuary) for study.
-
The Monday Morning Bible Study, led by Tom Callicutt, is an ecumenical gathering that studies a variety of topics each week at 10am (except during summer months) in the Session Room (behind the sanctuary). All are welcome.
-
Throughout the year, Wes leads a variety of studies, from reading through the entire Bible and exploring the beliefs of Christian denominations to season studies for Lent and Advent.
-
Children have a special place at First Presbyterian. Room is made for them in worship, and those who may not want to sit through worship are invited to go to the Children’s Ministry class after the Children’s Sermon. There are also other opportunities for growth throughout the year.
-
All members and visitors are welcome to take copies of “These Days,” a daily devotional produced by the Presbyterian Church, USA for free. New editions are produced every three months and are available in the Narthex or Church office, or we’ll mail one to you if you’d like!
